The “Mizmor Rivka” non-profit organization was established in memory of the modest, noteworthy, and remarkable woman, Mrs. Henya Rivka Raskin, daughter of Rabbi Aryeh Ze’ev and Rebbetzin Malka Lipsker, of blessed memory, for the purpose of increasing in acts of charity and kindness with song and praise as she did and educated others to do throughout her lifetime.
Mrs. Rivka Raskin a”h, “the joyful mother of children” – educated her children to be properly connected to the Lubavitcher Rebbe as Chassidim involved in reaching out to their fellow Jews with true inner joy and serving as Chabad emissaries all over the world. All those acquainted with her know about her home, open to all who came. Her hospitality, her great generosity, together with a kind word and a smile became her distinctive qualities. The most appropriate way to describe her is in the liturgical poem we recite before Friday night Kiddush, ‘Eishes Chayil’: “The teaching of kindness is on her tongue; she watches the conduct of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
This organization focuses on two main activities: the music center and the kindness center. Mrs. Henya Rivka Raskin a”h passed away on Erev Shabbos Parshas Vayeira – the 14th of Marcheshvan 5775, after a serious illness. Throughout her period of medical treatment, she never lost her feeling of joy, optimism, and faith in Alm-ghty G-d, and she always strengthened herself and others with the help of song and dance. She was always filled with life and emanated light to all those around her.
“Mizmor Rivka” programs are designed to continue her legacy, and we will continue spreading and radiating spiritual light, as she did throughout her life.
The music center will provide students with some important musical tools, both from a professional and developmental standpoint. Both in Judaism and in modern studies, music has a special and important significance for a person’s soul. Through the “Mizmor Rivka” Music Center, we give children the proper tools for building a healthy, happy, and joyous life.
The kindness center provides needy kids with help all year round. We are there to make certain that they lack nothing, enabling them to concentrate on their studies and build their lives for a better and happier future.
With G-d’s help, we will do and we will succeed. May her soul be bound up in the bond of everlasting life.
